It enables them to appreciate their legal responsibilities in relation to corporate stewardship and improve their confidence in understanding and discussing financial issues. The course is highly practical and allows participants to discuss financial issues in a non-threatening environment. 1:1 coaching in financial matters is also available following the course.

A 3 day non-residential programme, this is a highly interactive course using exercises, case studies and discussion.
Day One: The context of Finance and building your financial vocabulary
- The role of finance in organisations
- Financial responsibilities
- Consideration of financial and business risk
- Statutory statements: Context, preparation and meaning (Income statements/balance sheets etc)
Day Two: Improving your ability to manage and assess financial performance
- Managing financial resources
- Cash flow analysis, working capital management
- Monitoring financial performance
Day Three: Continuation of Day Two and further development of financial confidence
- Investment appraisal
- Business valuation
- Interpreting financial information
- Putting it into practice
