Through Maven Investors, David Hannath, The idm Group ’s Managing Director of Board Support Services, has been working with Wolverhampton based Progress Children’s Services as a Non-Executive Director.


During 2008, David supported the set up and development of the organisation ’s new Board, facilitated the development of the senior management team and helped focus the company’s growth aspirations. In November, Progress Children’s Services won the accolade of ‘Best Small Business’ in the Best of the Black County Awards 2008.

The pride of the Black Country was on display for all to see at a glittering awards event in The Bank’s Stadium, Walsall, celebrating the best businesses in the area. Progress Children’s Services is a specialist fostering and residential care company which currently works with around 50 young people. The company’s founder, Bal Dhanoa, commented: “This award isn’t just for us; this is for all our children.”

David will continue in his Non-Executive Director role for the next 2 years and hopes to see the company develop and grow further over this time. David comments “Whilst the economic situation remains tough, I am confident that the vision and strategy for Progress will enable it to build on its strength as an organisation founded on social values and provide more specialist care for vulnerable children.”
