The idm Group's Chief Executive opens state-of-the-art health centre in Retford with Royalty.....


October 2008 draws to a close with His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent officially unveiling the new £9.5m Retford Primary Care Centre.

The multi-pound healthcare facility has been built on the Retford Hospital site on North Road. It was developed by North Nottingham Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT), a local development company, for Bassetlaw Primary Care Trust (PCT) under a 25-year public private partnership agreement to improve the health and social care premises across the district.

Dean Fathers, Group Chief Executive of The idm Group and Chairman of Bassetlaw PCT, comments: "This is the second primary health care centre to be opened in Bassetlaw. The centre provides excellent facilities for patients and I am delighted that the centre has been opened by HRH Duke of Kent."

Dean has several years experience in the NHS at Board level and was appointed Chairman of Bassetlaw PCT in October 2006. He has a wealth of experience within a range of organisations, working with Boards and Directors in areas as diverse as: the automotive industry, aerospace, construction, defence, distribution, education, health, insurance, media and the pharmaceutical industry, across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

The improvement that Dean's hard work has brought to Bassetlaw PCT is clear to see in the provision of these excellent new facilities for the patients of North Nottinghamshire.
