The idm Group was delighted to have a presence at the recent Chartered Management Institute (CMI) North East Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Conference, The Leading Edge, held at Oulton Hall, Leeds....


The event, which was opened by Robert Coates, Chairman of CMI NEYH Regional Forum, was held to provide managers and directors with the opportunity to develop their personal learning. Dean Fathers, Group Chief Executive of The idm Group, headed an impressive line up of inspiring and engaging speakers, delivering the opening presentation on the principles of “Good to Great” organisations and how the application of these principles can lead to the development of inspirational leadership.


Robert Coates comments, “Dean Fathers presentation on “Good to Great”, Developing Inspirational Leadership was a model of clarity and inspiration. His delivery was excellent and the content thought provoking and stimulating. Everyone will have left the conference with a mental picture of the hedgehog - the three overlapping circles - representing the search for a deep and meaningful understanding of a business. And that is what we learned! This is a presentation to be highly recommended delivered by an experienced and competent professional."

As well as the thought provoking and informative speeches, delegates could take part in additional interactive and innovative workshops. David Hannath, Managing Director of Independent Decision Makers, facilitated a workshop which further explored the principles of ‘Good to Great” companies, enabling delegates to consider the practical application of the principles in their own organisations. On evaluating the workshop, one delegate commented:“Excellent relevance to team motivation, David held onto his every word he was so interesting.”
